SUNSHINE LOCATION SOUND

We were hired to do location sound for the film “Sunshine”, directed by Andy Fortenbacher. The location was a lakeside cottage in West Michigan.

Here’s how our setup looked, hidden behind a storage shed, out of camera view

Well hidden.

The Holophone is hidden behind the bush on the right. On this film we were utilizing only the front left and right channels for stereo ambiance.

Several scenes were shot on the dock.
The boom microphone operator plugged into our system as well, using a few really long XLR cables. We can provide consistent phantom power on all of our input channels.

Another scene involved an actor riding a bike down a steep driveway. The camera was on a dolly track at the bottom of the driveway. We set up the Holophone in the trees on the side of the driveway to get a right to left ambiance recording of the bike coming down.

Another view of the driveway setup. Our large mic stand is able to elevate up to nine feet in height, putting the Holophone array at a height of ten feet.
