The idea of what was to become Iguana Kitchen and Quantum Audio Mechanics first began nearly 10 years ago. At that time our founder, John Pellegrini, had been working in audio production for the broadcast industry for 20 years. John noticed that there weren’t too many new sound effect libraries with all new recordings. There were lots of new libraries coming out that were remixes of older libraries (around that time the term “audio architecture” began to be used quite a bit) – but almost no collections of brand new sounds.
So John began to research what would constitute a really new and improved sound effects library. At the same time surround sound had become the new standard for movies, video games, and home theater. And the question that kept coming to mind was, “what would be the ultimate sound effects collection we could offer to our customers?”
The one-word answer we kept coming back to was “flexibility”… a sound effects collection that could be used in any surround format, or stereo mix, with the highest sampling rates for maximum audio control. And now, nearly 10 years later we proudly present Quantum Audio Mechanics.
One of the things that set us apart from other sound effect libraries is that we’re not a film production company that’s just marketing leftover sounds that we’ve used before. We’re a specialized audio production company with an emphasis on sound quality and all new recordings.
No re-mixes, recycling, or revisions.
Along the way we also put together Childspeak - a collection of the most common phrases needed for commercial and promotional voiceover from a five year old. We’re also working with a couple of composer/musicians who are developing some new music libraries for us to offer on one time buyout, which we will be releasing in the near future.
